- Exhibition of architecture at Röhsska museet, Göteborg, December 8 2015 – March 6 2016. The exhibition Le Corbusier – Gothenburg Stockholm Alger is presented to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of the famous Swiss-French architect. Through models, reproductions and original books and letters the show gives glimpses of Le Corbusier’s plans for the cities of Algiers and Stockholm, both designed in the 1930s. The exhibition also investigates the connection between Le Corbusier’s influential ideas from the mid-war period and the plans that were developed for some of Gothenburg’s 1970s suburbs.The exhibition also highlights the kitchen interior from Le Corbusier’s Marseille building complex Unité d’habitation, which is on permanent display in the Röhsska museum since 2011.Produced in close collaboration with the Department for Architecture at Chalmers University of Technology, the exhibition is the only Swedish museum event to mark the Le Corbusier anniversary. In connection to the exhibition a Swedish translation of Le Corbusier’s book Poésie sur Alger will be published. It is translated by the architect and researcher Johan Linton, a leading Swedish expert on Le Corbusier.
